Natural-stone cladding for garden walls and façades
Cladding can transform an existing wall, plinth or garden boundary. It does not replace a load-bearing structure and needs a suitable substrate.
Texture and format
Regular pieces create an ordered surface, while irregular polygonal stone gives a freer pattern. Match the scale to the wall. Some of the illustrated cladding is typically around 2–4 cm thick; always check the specification of the actual product.
Substrate and fixing
The existing wall’s condition, moisture, cladding weight and exposure influence the installation system. Adhesive, any mechanical fixings, joints and top-edge details must be compatible. Cladding does not automatically strengthen a weak wall.
Combining materials
Stone can sit alongside timber, render and planting. View several pieces beside the façade to assess natural variation, rather than judging from one small sample. Plan the edges and water protection as part of the design.
