Choosing travertine paving and coping for a pool

A coherent pool surround starts with paving, coping and corners chosen together. Colour matters, but it does not replace checking the finish for wet barefoot use.
Pale colours beside water
Beige and warm pale shades form a gentle frame for a pool and sit well with timber and planting. Compare samples in sun and shade. Surface temperature depends on the conditions, so do not assume every pale travertine stays cool.

Finish and pool treatment
Confirm suitability of the exact surface for wet barefoot areas and compatibility with the pool’s water-treatment system. A general material name is not enough. Agree suitable cleaning products as well.
A complete coping schedule
Bullnose coping needs coordinated straight and corner pieces. Establish width, overhang, thickness, cuts and the transition to the terrace. The planner can help prepare a schedule for review before ordering.
Your next step
- Prepare an accurate drawing of the pool and corners.
- Specify the water-treatment system.
- Confirm all coping pieces and the installation design.
