Natural-stone pool coping: what to check before ordering

Pool length alone is not enough to plan the coping. You also need the corners, coping width, overhang and connections to the pool structure and surrounding paving.
Travertine beside a pool
Pool surrounds are exposed to water, sun and water-treatment products. Travertine can create a cohesive natural setting, but suitability of the exact product and finish for wet barefoot use must be confirmed.

The rounded coping edge
A bullnose profile gives the front edge a rounded shape. Coordinate straight pieces, corners and overhang in one complete schedule. The edge profile does not replace checking the rest of the design.
Finish and water treatment
A finish name alone does not establish slip performance or compatibility with pool chemicals. Provide the intended treatment system and request information for the actual surface you plan to use.
Installation and planning
Levels, joints and connections to the pool shell and terrace must be designed together. Surface water should be directed according to the chosen system. The SBN pool planner helps prepare dimensions and quantities for a quotation.
Your next step
- Draw the pool’s internal dimensions, edge construction and corners.
- Specify the water treatment and confirm the finish’s suitability.
- Check the complete piece schedule and cuts before ordering.
Tell us the dimensions and intended use. For delivery, include the country, postcode and access details.
