Granite from Turkey, China or Poland: what to compare
Country of origin is not a quality ranking on its own. Compare the particular stone, processing, dimensions and documentation.
Different quarries, different properties
A single country can produce many granite varieties. The deposit and processing determine appearance and performance. Clear product identification and consistent supply are more useful than a simple geographical label.
Bergama Grisi as an example
This Turkish granite has a pale grey appearance and relatively fine grain. Assess the actual sample and available finish rather than applying its characteristics to all Turkish granite.
Compare prices on the same basis
Check whether the price is per square metre, piece or tonne, and compare format, thickness, finish and tolerances. Delivery, pallet quantities and cutting affect the overall cost. Quotes only become comparable when their scope is equivalent.
