Sandblasted granite: understanding the finish
Sandblasting describes a surface treatment. Format, edge detailing and demonstrated suitability for the intended use also matter.
How the finish is produced
An abrasive is projected at the surface to create a matt, textured finish. Compare a real sample with polished or flamed granite. The name of a treatment cannot fully describe the appearance of the stone.
Everyday appearance
A matt surface reflects light differently from polished stone and reveals the grain and colour variation. Some small marks of use may be less noticeable on a textured finish. View samples under different lighting.
Check slip performance
A surface that feels rough does not automatically have a particular slip rating. Request information for the exact finish intended for your patio, entrance or steps. Compare paving, steps and edging together, including their dimensions and edge profiles.
