Travertine and granite tests: frost and slip performance
A test report is useful when the sample and finish are clearly identified. Its results should not automatically be applied to an entire product range.
The documents and samples
The travertine report is from Süleyman Demirel University, dated 12 October 2023. The granite report is from Afyon Kocatepe University, dated 11 May 2023. Check that the material and surface correspond to the product you intend to order.
Frost testing under TS EN 12371
The stated travertine sample recorded a mass loss of 0.076%. The granite report records a change of 0.15% after 56 cycles. These are results from particular tests, not substitutes for appropriate drainage and installation.
Slip values under TS EN 14231
The travertine SRV values are 47.4 dry and 16.1 wet. For granite they are 67.8 dry and 25.1 wet. These values should not be freely converted into R ratings or wet barefoot classifications.
