Chippings have angular grains; gravel is predominantly rounded. Choose according to the intended appearance and use.

Millimetre sizes describe the grains, not the installation depth. Area, layer thickness and material determine the required quantity.
View sub-base materialDecoration or bedding?
Decorative aggregates are not automatically suitable for bedding. Even aggregates of the same size can have different uses.
